Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs of the Adriatic Sea

چکیده

Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs are a newly discovered member of the bacterial community in Adriatic Sea. During last seven years, when we started to study these organisms, have collected considerable number samples from different environments, coast, estuary, and open sea. Here compiled data 34 georeferenced sites four studies that summarize all is known about aerobic examine spatial vertical distribution environmental factors affecting this We found horizontal influences on AAP distribution, mainly salinity, nitrates, chlorophyll , ammonium, temperature, soluble reactive phosphorus. Much their ecology Adriatic, with new survey underway, will expand our knowledge composition role carbon flux higher trophic levels.

Influence of selected environmental factors on the abundance of aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs in peat-bog lakes

Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs (AAPs) are photoheterotrophic prokaryotes that are widespread in many limnic and marine environments. So far, little is known about their distribution in peat-bog lakes. Seventeen peat-bog lakes were sampled during three summer seasons 2009, 2011, and 2012, and the vertical distribution of AAPs was determined by infrared epifluorescence microscopy. The analysis de...

Temporal changes and altitudinal distribution of aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs in mountain lakes.

Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs (AAPs) are bacteriochlorophyll a-containing microorganisms that use organic substrates for growth but can supplement their energy requirements with light. They have been reported from various marine and limnic environments; however, their ecology remains largely unknown. Here infrared epifluorescence microscopy was used to monitor temporal changes in AAPs in the a...
